The MIQE Guidlines

The Minimum Information for Publication of Quantitative Real-Time PCR Experiments.

The MIQE guidelines were introduced to reduce the lack of standardisation in performing and evaluating qPCR experiments. Previously, a lack of consensus was causing several issues within the field. In particular, the publication of insufficient details presented problems when critically evaluating an experiment or attempting to replicate results.

These guidelines have now been in place for many years and made a positive impact on industry consensus and experimental practice. The article covers all things qPCR: data analysis, clarifying nomenclature and an information checklist for publications just to name a few.
